Have you tried unplugging it, waiting and plugging it in again?

It should be under warranty. But remember a lot of problems are due to inadequate power protection. A simple surge protector is not enough, with the grid under stress and wild storms.

well I bought it new in box off a guy from craigslist.. so maybe I got what I got... i still like the concept.. and the idea of just using the TV as a monitor and having a mac mini is kind of appealing. i guess I will see about getting it fixed first..

I just dont see myself going PC anymore

That won't protect your router/modem, only a desktop computer.

Call AppleCare and explain the situation. I doubt they'll replace it but they may help out.

Maybe this will give you some insight on how to unbrick it:

Granted it'll help on in case flash firmware got corrupted - not too rare of occasion. If it's real hardware issue - maybe its worth to wait as bit as rumors say apple tv big update is coming really soon....;)

ok, so i made a genius appointment on my iphone for today after work. I get there and I get in pretty quick and the guy says I need to take it in back and wave my magic apple wand to fix it. he comes back a couple minutes later and say thats didnt work as fast as we want so we are just going to give you a new one.

so, this is why we buy apple products and drink their cool aid :)

I about crapped my pants in and out in 20 minutes no pain at all.

so happy ending to this story !!

The few times I have had to use Apples service they treated me awesome. The laptop I am typing this on was replaced by them when they could not fix a display issue, and they gave me a newer and faster one as well. I have no complaints about their service.

My hard drive crashed, and the apple genius spent about an hour with me trying to get important files off of the hard drive and onto their server. Their service is a main reason why I get apple products. My bro has an hp laptop that is the biggest piece of junk ever, and It breaks every few months like clockwork. Each time it has to be sent to who knows where and takes a few weeks to get fixed.

It's always refreshing to hear that "customer service" still exists.

Still...PC over Mac for me.
