no speaker level input

if i wanted to hook a sub without a speaker level input up to speaker level outputs would wiring a 75 ohm resistor inline work? if not what would be a better solution (besides getting a different sub)

The only safe way to do this would be to use L-pads at the speaker outputs, to reduce the voltage, and then send the output of the L-pads to individual buffer amps, and then common the buffer amps outputs and send the signal to the sub LFE input.

You will blow your amp or receiver if you common the outputs via a 75 ohm resistor.

I had a similar problem a while ago with a friends subwoofer.

$32 for a line level adapter? You can get a simple inline one for under a dollar: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=269-050 though it does say not for use with high power output. I've used these in car stereo systems many times.
