they'd make nice balloons.

any student requesting a condom from a school nurse must first receive counseling, which includes information on abstinence.
this politician is misrepresenting this nice new policy to win an election. Ahole.

IF the student (regardless of being an elementary or high school student) requests for the condom, it's either they want to make balloons or they want to make the snake disappear. either way, they either need the counseling or they need the condom.

This is P-town we're talking about. That's like the second or third gayest place on the planet. Ask Doug. :D

You know how much of a pain in the a** it's to go to the store to pick-up condoms and then go to school to have sex with the teacher, that's what I had to do back in the day, at least this way you go to the nurse get what you need and then go take care of Mrs Johnson all under one roof. Damn kids have it to easy now:D

They are going to modify the plan so there will be an age limit because the Govorner called the super of the school to ask them too. That being said it is not the schools job to do this and if a school gave my elementary school son or daughter a condom I would bring it back and shove it up the principals ***, and not so it would be enjoyable....

A lot of kids today are having sex at extremely young ages. I'd rather they use condoms then not.

Some things should be left for the parents to do...Seems like a lot of parents these days do very little in raising their kids.

Do you think it's the schools responsibility to give condoms to children?

He double hockey-sticks no!

That's a personal decision that affects the moral fiber of a child's upbringing. Schools have no right to go there.

To have the school implicitly condone wanton sex goes against everything I can think of.

Some parents actually try to get their kids to hold off having sex until later in life, sometimes even until they marry. For schools to sabotage that steps on ones rights to raise their children as they see fit.

This is not like finding bruises on a kid and getting the authorities in to look into it. This is purely an invasion of privacy.

Think about it: Kids can't discuss religion in school but they can get condoms simply by asking. What's wrong with this picture?

How do you define "moral fiber?" Anyway, children are sent to school to learn. Why shouldn't they be given information about sex? It's a huge part of society, and they should be taught about it in schools as well. I'm not talking about first graders or whatever. I'm pretty sure I had sex ed in 6th or 7th grade. Obviously the school shouldn't be telling kids to go out and have sex, but they need to know about it and the consequences and diseases and children and all that.

Also, they aren't just passing them out to everybody, a student has to request one and get counseling from the nurse as well. I do believe that the parents should be informed if their child asks for one, but a lot of parents are terrible parents and don't care what their kids do and/or don't talk to their kids about sex at all. Schools promoting abstinence simply doesn't work.

Religion is also discussed in history/social studies...it had to do with plenty of wars and conflicts and still does today, obviously. I do believe that there should be a class that covers various religions (NOT PROMOTING ANY ONE THEM), just so kids aren't so ignorant about other belief systems.
