Back when I was a kid, some time after mastodons had become extinct, I remember something called recess where we could run around outside, maybe play softball or basketball, and so forth. From what I understand, nowadays it's not quite the same. The activities are much more monitored and I've seen grammar school kids walking the perimeter of the ball field I guess so they don't get hurt. It seems like there's much less physical activity for kids. When we wanted to do something after school because we were bored, we'd make a few phone calls and drive our bikes down to a schoolyard and maybe play baseball, football, basketball, or whatever. Even during the winter, I can remember biking with a shovel in hand where the whole group of us would shovel off the court. I guess nowadays there's a lot less of that. Even with ballfields around where I live, I rarely see anything than organized sports going on. I don't see kids gathering just to play. Video games? I think if we'd had them back then we probably wouldn't have had as much activity and possibly have been a bit chunkier.
