The advantages of getting the Marantz for function are nice as well. It has built in amplifiers, so a amplifier isn't needed right away and maybe all you'll need is a stereo amp for the fronts and you can allow the Marantz to handle the rest.
BAsed on this, do you think that I would be better off getting the XPA2 vs XPA3? I have a SR6003 and am running Studio 60's v5. I have read many reviews that say although the xpa 3 is good, the XPA 2 is in a whole other ball park. Whther this is true or not, I don;t know. Based on your comment above I would lean towrds the XPA2. My only concern is that the center (CC690) would sound a little different because of being powered with the AVR. The XPA2 could power the FLR and the AVR can power the center and 2 surrounds. I do not plan on running 7.1 yet.
