Energy C-500 - Replacement Center Matching

Hello,

I'm pretty new to this board, but it looks like there is tons of valuable information here from some people that really know their stuff!

I have two pair of Energy C500s that I have been using as fronts and surrounds along with the matching C-C100 as the centre channel. While I was moving this weekend the C-C100 got crushed by a moving truck and now I am in need of a new centre channel.

I have looked at the new line of Energy speakers since the C-C100 has been discontinued. What I have specifically been looking at is the CC-10 and the RC-LCR.

I am wondering which of these would be the closest match to the old C-C100 and what would most closely timbre match the C-500's?

Doing some searches on here it seems like both speakers are pretty well regarded but it seems like the new Energys might be bright sounding much like Klipsch speakers. I would like to keep the sound as close as possible to the C-C100 so it matches the C-500's but unfortunately I can't really lug my speakers down to my local audio shop to see how well they blend together.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Cheers

I would call Energy and see what they recommend for a timbre match.

I should have pointed out that Energy's customer service recommended the CC-10 over the RC-LCR, but I figured there may be some people on this board that may have had some hands on experience with these speakers.

From what I can tell from the specs the CC-10 is vastly different from the C-C100, while the RC-LCR seems much closer (maybe I'm wrong?). I know on paper specs don't mean much and actually listening is the best way to pick a speaker. That being said I am thinking of buying both and returning the one that doesn't match as well to the C500's.

You might also watch ebay and cragslist. Once in a while something comes up on them although it can take a while. I know I just sold a pair of C100s and a C-C50 on craigslist.
