I've decided to make a website for putting up my pictures in a more presentable fashion. Every so often I have people ask for a way to see my pictures, but I really don't have a way to do that without emailing them or whatever.

So, I came up with Chaos Journey. It's a play on my initials "CJ". I just started the website today, so it doesn't really have much on it, but I figured I'd put it up now and get feedback before I get too much into it.

I'll tell you up front I know next to nothing about web design, so the whole thing is probably going to stay pretty simple. Plus, I don't really like websites with a bunch of excess crap all over them, I'm simply providing a medium for showcasing my pictures.

I also need ideas for what to put on the front page. I suck at writing about myself, and I don't really know what to put. Any help would be appreciated! :)

Anyway, here it is:

Note: Once you click on a gallery you can click the full screen box at the top right of the gallery for larger pictures.

It may be a pain, but I would put watermarks on your pictures. Other than that, looking nice :)

I'm not trying to sell them or anything, this is just to share them with family, friends, whoever. If there was ever some kind of conflict though, I have the originals so it wouldn't be hard to prove they are mine.

Or not, haha. Someone else just told me the same thing about watermarking. I can do it when I batch process the images, so it's actually not that much extra work. I guess it's a small price to pay to keep people from stealing your stuff. Thanks for the input!

How about putting a favorite picture on the main page? You could rotate it out by season or boredom or whimsy or mood or whatever excuse. Could use a main page picture change to indicate an update to the website. Now that would be thought provoking...

Or if you have a picture that makes people go "what the...????" then I vote for that one.

Any pictures of lobsters knife fighting? Or a friend asleep but drooling? Two turtles going at it? Those are all excellent front page pictures for someone else's webpage. :D
