Hi guys,
I am not an expert with these things, so will appreciate your help :) I have a spare B&W LCR 6S2 and I am wondering if I can use it as a subwoofer. IOW, can I connect it to a subwoofer amplifier (Zachry D-250) and then connect it to the A/V-Receiver (sony str-dg720). Will this work?

Many thanks :)

wtf, no, not unless u want to blow it and ruin the x-over. secondly, subwoofers are built to handle frequencies from 100hz and below, most center channels are built to handle frequencies from 100 hz and up, so absolutely not. also, why did you title the thread S?

Thanks guys. It makes sense. I'll get a dedicated subwoofer.

Another question: is there any use for this central channel? I have already one connected and wondering if I could have a use for this one.

Sorry by calling this threat "S" - It was a mistake :(

You could always have one center channel mounted above and the other monuted below the display.

I don't think it would sound right though if the two centers are different brands and models.

Thanks, I will try that. They are both B&W (B&W CC3 and B&W LCR 6S2).

you could use it as a rear channel on a 6.1 setup

this is a bad idea which i will illustrate why in a moment.

this is what happens when you place two center channels vertically, it also happens horizontally, in most of todays modern loudspeakers, high frequencies seem to have a problem with beaming which is what create "sweetspots" in the first place, the only way to overcome this is by using horns, which those speakers dont have as far as i know.

the result would be two distinctly different center channels and would ruin the "seamlessness" of the system

I think I'd take that spare center and build a bedroom system around it.
