Ed I'm not the OP, but I am currently using an 805 in my main HT system and yes it has pre-outs, in fact I have three seperate stereo amps hooked up running my side channels, rear channels and center (bridged amp for center) and the 805 is running my mains (DT 7001sc) in fact I had a GTG last weekend and we easily got over 105db without even breaking a sweat.
Only downside to the 805 is you definately need a small computer fan to help blow the heat out of the back right side cause without the fan, you could easily cook breakfast on the top of the reciever.
Other than that the 805 is a fantastic reciever and the last Onkyo that was reasonably priced with that awesome amp built in.
