I'm a big whiskey fan. Have tried many and certainly have my favorites, but this one to me is definitely at the top of my list!...and it's under $300 for the 750ml....a bargain I tell you!

How does it compare to Johnny Walkers Blue? I'm a JW fan.

Glenmorangie is awesome- particularly the 25 year.

For something really special, you should see if you can find Oban 32. I've only ever had it once, but hands down the best scotch I've ever had. They don't bottle it anymore, so you'd have to find somebody with a bottle to buy it off of (or make friends :D)

Oban 14 and 18 easier to find (although still rare), and are also fantastic.

Alex brought me a bottle of Oban 18. I agree, very good.

I'm quite partial to Talisker 10 Y.O. If you like peat and smoke flavours, you'll love it.

I am not a fan of Scotch; I am a bourbon kind of guy. Sipping on some Makers Mark at this very moment. :)

Try Lagavulin if you like that smokey peat thing. I almost wouldn't drink it but it did have alcohol in it so I overlooked the taste. Harrr-thewy !!! :(

Good stuff there. It wins awards for taste on a regular basis ... or use to anyways. They still have that fake melted wax on the bottle? I kind of liked Knob Creek too. We'd get drunk and start calling it D!ck River. :D It had a sharper flavor if I recall correctly.

Royal Salute was about the best tasting Scotch I ever had. I only ever had one bottle of it.
Drank it kinda quick too ... because it tasted so good. ;)

I think everybody in this thread ought to be targeted for an intervention ... especially Jeff.
I mean we've all seen his posts ... and look at that avatar. :p
