The room is about 13.5x14 with 8 foot ceilings. I have a sub picked out i just need to figure out speakers. Im trying to listen to as much as possible in my area but they all seem to carry the same stuff. The def tech system i looked at was heavily discounted at my local 6th ave electronics. Otherwise it would be way above the number i wanted to be at. The aperions seem to be a no brainer since if i dont like them i can send them back. But like i said the def techs just sounded like i wanted.
I agree with you the bipole speakers just had this fullness to them that i liked. I just want to make sure the space requirements are there.
My room is only 15ft x 16ft and my BP7000s are much bigger than the ones you got, but I still am able to do 3ft from the front wall.
I think 2ft - 2.5ft from the front wall is possible in a 14ft room.
Yeah, the bipole speakers just produce this 3-dimensional soundstage that is hard to describe.
I've listened to the MartinLogan dipole speakers also, and they also produce this 3D soundstage. I've compared a $3K MartinLogan dipole to some $12K Dali Euphonia MS5 direct-radiating speakers (which also sounded really good), and I preferred the MartinLogan. But that is just my personal taste.
Once you've "tasted" this 3D soundstage, there is NO going back to the traditional speakers.
