I was thinking about getting 2 dayton 120 (room is about 20'x20'x11').

or something around the same price of the two dayton 120s(around 350).

Thanks guys...

I don't think there really is anything else in that price range.
FWIW when the time came for me to have my sister get subs, that's what I had her get.

Bic F12 should be better quality and output and cost just a bit more.

This is what I am doing. I have a room that is 25X15X10 that is open to my kitchen. I bought one and will add the second one once the room is complete (painting, wiring, wood floors, etc).

My system isn't complete yet but I am getting the fronts and center speaker this week and my receiver soon but even with my crappy current setup, it hits pretty good - A second one should round it out nicely.

be sure to give your impressions once you get it and listen to it for a bit.

I look forward to reading your review of the Dayton, Cazy. I need to help someone fill a large room on a budget.

How large of a room? I received my SUB120 last week and although I don't have my whole system set up yet, I played with it quite a bit. My room is about 25X15X10 and one side is open to my kitchen.

The bass it produces is great. I'm not sure what to set the crossover frequency at yet, but tried it down low at about 60, and then I tried it high just to see how well it worked and it seems to work very well (I will adjust it appropriately when I get everything set up).

Now maybe I am a bass freak, but I was expecting a bit more from this. Don't get me wrong, my wife says that it is crazy rattling the house, but I was expecting more. With that said, the bass is very precise and while watching Transformers 2 in HD, it definitely made my movie experience (had it cranked up pretty high).

All and all, for $150, I am happy with the purchase. It is a hugh step up from 8+ year old budget HTIB "60 watt" sub from Yamaha. I do think that I will end up purchasing a second Dayton. I have my room wired for a sub in the back of the room and one in the front, but will have to research (and test) if it sounds better near the L/R speakers or in the front/back of the room.

Let me know what you think when you get yours up and running.

24.5' long x 14' wide x 8' high (2744 cubic feet).
Pretty close to the size of my room. Like I said, you may be happy with one but I think two would be optimal in my opinion.

I have a sub120, and I'm thinking of getting another. The bass is there, but it doesn't have the impact I was hoping for. I've tried moving it around, but there seems to be no good spot in the room. Maybe another will help :D

Not sure you are still looking, but there's a reason the high output subs also have giant amplifiers. Rather than duplicating your situation, maybe try HSU VTF-MK3, as it not only goes deep, it has a high output necessary for the impact you're looking for. As an alternative, Def Tech has the ProSub1000 for $500, 10" with passive radiator. It can pump out some significant deep bass at high levels.

I think the reason why they are looking at dayton's rather than Hsu's is because Hsu's cost quite a bit more. Dayton's are supposedly some of the best cheap subwoofers. They don't look like they will give out gut wrenching bass even in the best of circumstances, for I think they will outdo many PC audio system and HTiB systems. In a small room, they should provide ample bass, especially if you are seated against a wall.

Well my budget was a big consideration but I didn't want to necessarily sacrafice SQ. Considering that I was replacing my entire system, I felt that I would direct more of my budget to the receiver and speakers than the sub.

Once I dial everything in (I still have to install my front speakers and calibrate everything) I will be ok for a while. Asthetically, I wanted the TV in the middle of two Daytons which would fill up my alcove perfectly (I like to have things symetrical) so this is a major factor to me. Ultimately, I will probably get another Dayton and now that I have watched a few DVDs and BDs I think that the second Dayton will be sufficient.
