I wouldn't bother with the Axiom. SVS and eD make excellent subs. Don't forget HSU too. How big is the room and what are your listening habits?

Movie watching primarily. Room is about 18' x 24' x 8' feet high.

I have to agree with rnatalli here. Axiom makes a good sub but they are just overpriced compared to a lot of the competition in this market and therefore don't offer any value. The PB12 will outperform the Axiom 350 as well. I am not familiar with the ED model.

I vote for the PB12-NSD as well. I've got a Hsu VTF-2 MK3 (and it's great), but the SVS seems to offer significantly more sub for about the same price.

A2-300

I am a big HSU fan, and owned a VTF-2 for a long time. I currently own an eD A2-300 and can tell you that it is the equal of any sub at its price point for movie watching. I have heard the SVS 12" and it would be slightly better for critical music listening, albeit at about $200 more cost. I would say save ur nickels and try the A2-300. Call the folks at eD...I called them before upgrading to their A7s-450 sealed 18" (I was debating between that and the A5-350 15" ported model). Is there any way you could arrange a trial between the two?

As for Axiom, their subs would be great deals minus about $300-$350 off the price that they sell them for.

I have found that, before my A7s-450, my Hsu was the most musically accurate sub I had ever heard. In a small room, next to my couch, it was heaven. I have several years of experience mixing on and off stage (i.e, monitors and FOH) for some large music festivals...the Hsu just brought the impact and dynamicism to another level. Now that I'm in a new house and have a bigger room, my A7s-450 fills the bill quite nicely. :)

What do you guys think of Velodyne subs vs all those other brands you mention here? I am in the USA.

Personally I think you have to pay too much for Velos because you have to pay the middle man too. I have an eD A2-300, I have heard many others subs, never a Velo, but I can say for a HT application the eD is an excellent performer and as good or better then most of the subs I have heard.
