The story starts a year ago when I got a APC H15 in silver for a great price ! (as many of you here remember that deal)
It was almost perfect, and worked great.
.

Well,I put up with it in silver for a year because the Comcast DVR was silver, and I got lazy,
But a couple weeks ago,I ended up swapping out the older silver Comcast dvr for the newest version, and it was black !
.

So that was the motivation I needed,
I took apart the H15
.

I prepped and painted the feet, the plastic end caps, the front oval readout panel,& the sides with gloss black enamel.
.

.

.

.

.

.
Next,I dropped off the front and top at the powder coating shop,
.

.
The “APC” chrome emblem came off and went back on nice,
.

.

.

.

.
Now all is good in my world
.

.

.

.
grills off
.

.

.
While I was at it, I had a piece of smoked ¼" glass cut for the top of the sub to protect and make it look good.
.

total , $34
$20 for the powder coating
$4 osh can of enamel
$10 for the smoked sub glass

Have you listened to it without having the acoustic guitar where you have a collection point for standing waves? Any weird buzzing on certain notes?

I haven't really heard any weird buzzing or sounds from that corner..

are you referring to the bass because of it being in the corner ?

I'll have to listen closely with it there and moved.

:)

No, I'm referring to certain notes that cause the strings on your guitar to buzz, like mine.

My APC is silver also and I thought about doing this too, but I figure I will just buy a different black unit and use this one somewhere else. Nice work though! Curious why you went with a gloss black vs flat like most other gear, not that it looks bad though.

Nice Job..... Looks great... :)

Maybe you could do something about that condom material on those Paradigm Monitors you got there....

Seems I can never get that out of my head the first time I saw those in person....

I like gloss better for a couple reasons, the trim on the tv and the tv stand is glossy, and the tv stand & sub smoked glass is shiny, and it's easier to wipe dust off of ,than flat IMO.

Nice!

What brand are the speakers stands?
thanks ! :) that was another DIY project, the stands were a cheap pair of $40 circuit city 12",
here are the original crap stands

I used the same tops and bottoms and made the posts out of 4X4 redwood ,I had a quart of stain mixed to match the paradigms and sanded and stained them to match the Rosenut, they are 24" now and solid as hell.
I did a diy thread here, but the pics are down now.

Nice. The stands look great.

So it's a solid 4x4 column? No wonder the stands are so damn sturdy now!
