Deals! moderation delays

Hey Guys, I love good value and I'm gladdy sharing it with my AH buddies , but the moderation delays kills the whole experience.
The issue is A LOT of Deals are getting expired within few hours and sometimes even quirkier and by the time mods get to this, deal is most likely expired.

To expedite the posting I have to PM site mods, like matt34, as apparently I been told - regular mods can't do it.

Please fix it somehow - ether remove moderation from deals completely/per person/per min posts required etc... or at least PLEASE allow regular forum mods to approve deals posts.

If not addressed at all, I don't feel i'll be posting any new deals at all :(

I hate to join in but there really is no timelyness to the Deals section. ~24 hours ago I posted a one day deal on Amazon, the post still hasn't appeared and it doesn't matter anymore because the deal has expired.

Basically we need some type of system where once members are established (reach X status, have X posts, X length of membership, whatever) they can post deals without moderator approval. Until that minimum is achieved members still wait for approval (which if it's as it has been they essentially go to the doldrums and hope a wind catches their sails and their posts get out alive).

I've experienced something similar. So what I do is post in the Deals subforum, and immediately post the same thing, somewhere, in perhaps some related thread, in the proper subforum.

Say there is a deal on a plasma. I submit to Deals, and then I'll post in a "current" thread where the OP might be interested. Yeah, not everyone may catch it in the latter, but if one was seriously hunting, they would probably notice it.

Dude, I try to do it every day. I really do. :(
I really don't think it's an issue with the moderators but more of an issue with the way the process is currently setup. Many times the deals being posted are time sensitive. There needs to be a method by which "established" members can post them and they show right away while still protecting the board from the crap that was constantly being posted here in the past that caused us to have to use the current process.

Yeah it's not a moderator problem, it's a logistics problem. If no one is on to do them then they simply won't get done. I think it would be easier to let all of them go through and if a mod doesn't feel like it's an appropriate post, then they can remove it and pm the person who made the thread. I would assume this would cut down significantly on mod time spent on these messages.

I posted several deals on this Friday, including $99 WD TV Live which probably expired by now :(
Unless I bug site mods no one bothers to approve these posts....
Gene, Tom, Clint - Please address this :(

Send a PM to Clint and Gene. They will be more likely to respond in private.

I'll see if I can't do something to get you guys special permission to post in there without moderation. If you are attempting to manage that I think giving the frequent deal posters some mod privileges isn't a bad idea. The idea was to keep out the spammers or those guys hoping to embed tracking code for advertising revenue.

Thanks Clint, I understand the need for moderation - I run a very small blog but even for me spammers annoy once a while.

If I started 15 threads in the deals, Deals, DEALS subforum, does that make me a "frequent deal poster"? :D
