Hey guys what do you think about this thing? Rotoshave I have tried every type of shaver made, and my skin still gets irritated. I have a heavy beard and sensitive skin. I am currently using the 5 bladed shaver and some skin clearing shave stuff, but this thing looked intriguing on the infomercial I saw the other night.

I've never found an electric shaver that can give me a clean shave. I've tried a few plus the old straight edge blades but keep coming back to the basic mach 5 razors but I also use a shaving oil and this shaving cream. I like it a lot better than the stuff you can buy in stores. After using a shaving oil you'll never go back to using just shaving cream IMO.

In the same boat. I learned a trick a long time ago which will save you a ton of money on blades... which aren't cheap for the Mach or Fusion razors

It's typically not the cutting of your beard that makes the blade dull. It's the oxidation of the blade. Put a container of rubbing alcohol on your bathroom counter. When you're done shaving, clean your blade like you usually do, then submerge the head in the alchohol until your next shave. This prevents the oxidation of your blade and will typically triple your blade lenght if not more.

I have never tried shaving oil. Thanks I just ordered some. This rotoshave is bladed shaver that you use with your favorite shave cream or oil. That is what got me wondering about it. How many shaves do you get out of the mach 5's. I get about 6 or 7 and then they are too dull. It gets expensive.

I've also sensitive skin, my little fix is: Soak small towel in boiling hot water and apply it to face. Nivea's sensitive skin shaving gel and Nivea's ss baume helps and can be found in local pharmacy.
after shave - same tower procedure, but now with ice cold water
a lot of good info at http://badgerandblade.com forums

I get just over a weeks worth out of each saving M-F and yes they are expensive. I was getting the cheap double edge blades with the old school Merker safter razors but honestly it takes a bit longer to shave so you don't cut yourself and I found that annoying after awhile.:D

That shaver is cheap enough it looks like it would be worth a shot.

It helps a ton to get your skin warm and wet, really wet. Shower is best, but, if at the very best some warm water splashed on it for a while. Then lather up the shaving cream really well, adding water to it. The more water you can get the shaving cream to hold, the better (that's also a good judge of how good a shaving cream is). Now let the shaving cream sit on your face for a few minutes, during this time you could get your clothing ready or whatever. I've gotten into a system where I basically lather up and then do a few things else before shaving. The time helps the warm water, which the shaving cream is holding, open and seep into the pores.

Now when you shave, run the blade under hot water inbetween each stroke. Not warm water, hot water. By the time it gets to your neck the blade will have cooled off.

After you shave, splash warm water on your face to remove all the shaving cream left in the pores. Now change the water to cold water, and splash again to soothe the skin and close the pores up.

A sharp blade is also key. I use a Mach 3 or whatever and it lasts about a week.

This from the guy that used to pay some one to mow his lawn until his wife to be told him that things had to change.:D

I switched to an electric several years ago. But I don't have a terribly thick beard. I just got tired of cutting myself. Does that make me a bad person?

I shaved a couple of days ago and will probably shave again in a day or two ...
without the benefit of shaving cream or that uber gay oil stuff. :D

That rotary job looks like it might be a permanent solution for hair, follicle and maybe skin removal. A Mach 3 Turbo blade probably lasts me a month. I don't like changing blades because new ones have a little soap bar on them that leaves me feeling slimy. I usually take care of this stuff in the shower without the use of a mirror but sideburns can be tricky. My face isn't that hairy but my nose and my a$$ make up for it.

Good lord you have a wimp beard. I can dull a 2 bladed shaver with one shave, and could easily shave twice a day. I have a braun electric job but it burns my skin after a couple of days. My wife has been shaving my back lately. That is gross isn't it. WHY THE HELL DO YOU GET HAIR ON YOUR BACK AFTER 40? it pisses me off.

Yep, I can't really grow a presentable beard of mustache but shaving isn't the bane of my existence either. I've never heard of a 5 blade razor before.

It's not actually $15 it is $130. Amazon has it for $120. Looks like it has mixed reviews some love it and some hate it. I am not sure I trust any reviews off of amazon though. http://www.amazon.com/Emjoi-RotoShave-AP-3RS-Rechargeable-Electric/dp/B000ZHCQ3M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=beauty&qid=1273330589&sr=8-1
