Good news! The LS-4 should start shipping today or tomorrow according to this post made by AV123 Sales on 4-12-10:I can imagine the people on this list must be excited.

That should just be their motto: "Your order is always just a few weeks away".

Now prove me wrong AV123 and actually deliver a quality product to your customers.
I'm gonna be surprised if they get pics of more than 1 pair in a home setting. And that "few weeks" is oh so familiar. I can hear the excuse/blame game starting already.

Just a simple question. With the current promotions on the LS-6 @ $2,999, why would someone buy the LS-4 for $2,999? Granted, some people might not have the room for the LS-6, but still ...

I wonder if Mark is kicking himself yet for letting Ruben (of Fallen Enclosures) go as a builder of the LS series? He's now doing some beautiful work on cabinets designed around Danny's designs. Wow ... just wow! :)

I'm sure their forum is buzzing with chatter from all the people who jumped on that introductory offer and are reporting every status update on their tracking numbers. It's lucky the server is even keeping up with the load.

That should just be their motto: "Your order is always just a few weeks away".
That gives me this funny mental picture of an AV123 product development schedule: each task is scheduled to take "a few weeks" and they all happen concurrently.

Now, now - don't apply rational thought to the marketing strategies! Next you'll be asking why they don't post formal policies for forum moderation on their site (complete with rules like "ban formerly loyal customers if they object to our criminal activities or keep asking for their $6,000 refunds") or how "a few weeks" could be a plausible delivery time frame for LS-4's that haven't even started cabinet construction yet...

Beautiful work. The finish looks similar to the NHT Evolution finishes which hold up really well.

And most importantly, stolen raffle money.
And product announcements followed by multi-year delays, and lots of B-stock, and intermittent finish defects in A-stock that's more than six months old, and some built-in amps with hum and a high failure rate. It's sort of impressive when you stop to think about how many lessons Fallen Enclosures (any anybody else who's watching) has to draw from when using AV123 as a business model - as long as you put "don't" in front of them.

Other places CrealM ships or has shipped to are,
  • GR Research (seems to be mostly drivers)
  • Matissee International Corp. (Furniture - Shoe & Floor Cabinets)
  • Gemme Audio (Speaker enclosures - Katana, Tanto, Vivage)
  • He Who Shall Not Be Named
  • AV451 (electronics & speakers)
  • Rythmik (cabinets)
Seems CrealM can't be all bad then, since many have commented on the excellent build quality of Rythmik subs (including cabinets - which I've never seen anyone have issues with so far), and the quality of GR's drivers.

No, not all bad. The never ending stream of amplifier screw-ups across multiple product lines including products such as the X-amp, Head amp (original introduction), etc. which to my knowledge were sourced through CrealM, had to have devastated the operation of MLS and AV451 financially. Just think, if those products had not had the issues they did, the raffles for DW, Hugh's friend, Dave's father, and any other individual who could've spoken up, might never had occurred. If they had, and there was mention of underfunding, it'd have been taken care of rapidly. Maybe. There were a lot of other things he was doing that weren't so nice.

I have no doubt those issues were the cause of huge financial burden. And if they were sourced through CrealM, then some of the blame for the QC issues lies with them as well. Although given the track record, I can't say I think the "underfunding" wouldn't have happened if there weren't issues with the electronics, especially since it seems pretty clear the stealing started before the MFW, X-amp, X-Head even existed.

I was just saying that it would seem CrealM does do some things well, if the Rythmik cabinets and GR drivers do indeed come from them. Maybe using them to source electronics was where the problem lies.

Sure and no matter how many times they got burned, they kept going back to the same place. 'Course, if you don't know that many places, that's what happens. In a country of a billion plus people, there were tons of places he could've gone to. The other financial burden was MLS himself with his reckless spending and incompetence going back to Audio Alchemy if not further. Every company he's had a prominent role in was left in disaster.

I don't know all the sources for the two companies but the Rythmik cabinets aren't curved, are they? Are the finishes they carry veneers? And GR sources from other places too including Peerless India. You've probably seen the examples on AV451's site of Ricket drivers that have indentations. Those were PI I think but having MLS's postings deleted makes it near impossible to find the relevant quotes.

No, Rythmik cabinets are not curved, and they don't have wood veneer offerings - just vinyl (black oak, golden oak, walnut) or piano black laquer.

Now that you mention it, I think it was the X-series driver that came from Peerless India, and GR sources drivers from them as well. Not sure about the Rocket drivers - but I think they came from somewhere else.

I wonder what kind of payment terms CrealM gave Schifty? Maybe like the terms that Mr. Pu once gave him and the reason why he kept going back to the well?

Either that or they were all he could afford on a cash up front basis.

Nahhhh. If he had, he would've boned CrealM a long time ago.

Well, if someone who is in contact with them asks, it'd be interesting to hear the answer although I'm more interested in hearing what happened at the court today.

And, to that, I'd like to dedicate 2 songs to TADG.

1) Procol Harum - A Whiter Shade of Pale

and,

2) The Moody Blues - Nights in White Satin

The current promotion is hilarious... Inventory reduction limited quantities on hand....
Brilliant wording that... Either Kyle thinks the only people going there are idiots or he is an idiot. At this point they have nothing to sell except limited quantities of ls6s and some x series... It's going to get very hard to justify or make payrol very quickly.
