Why not just get a pair of Gothams, that should solve your bass needs.

Opps.....

I maybe wrong on this. The JL is awesome and sounds great but it just doesn't push the volume for the size of my room. I am afraid a second one may not either. Dang, I wanted this to work.

I may go back to DIY. Anyone looking for an awesome sub for a small to moderates size room?

Only 10 hours on it and I will let it go for 2k plus shipping.
The DIY subwoofers with the esoteric drivers your kind of over, right?

What about trying a tapped horn from Danley? Maybe one of the slimmer ones would work behind the couch? Like a DTS-20?

My furniture is in the middle of the room. I have no place to hide anything.

Well a couple other options, you could start looking at IB if you have the space somewhere like an attic... which would leave no footprint...
I would have to agree also with the Submersives... they are very potent subs... and pretty compact...

Or you could talk to BossoBass about a pair of his Ravens...

Those are super nice lookin subs... He has lots of nice color choices as well

Please, spare us the drama. This past saga you had us all captured as hostages for well over a week while FedEx played hop-skotch with your package all over the U.S. :D :D ;)

Im not sure what kind of measured output they have, but they are an effecient design....

Talk to Accudeftech, otherwise I would say go with the Submersive, it may have a bit more output then the F113 - Duals would put you right at $4k

How would the Submersive compare to the Dawg Crusher? I guess I should have kept it and just got a new box for it.

your talking about 2 x 15" drivers - more efficient but less travel, I would suggest they are very close to the same ball park... and less hassle for setup

They are a very good choice.... good clean subs... really good output

I don't think too many people are familiar with the Dawg Crusher. The Submersive is supposed to be a great sub, and there is at least one guy I know who upgraded from dual F112s to dual Seatons, and he really liked the move, though I'm not sure what he is on now. They are a lot bigger though, so you know, as in long. I think I remember seeing multiples of these subs in a high end dedicated, where they were set lengthwise against the front wall, if you have the space to do that.

Regarding the Bossobass stuff, I thought* I read that his designs might be of an inefficient, if not most inefficient design. However, it's always interesting to read his posts at AVS, as he knows a ton. I guess all I'm saying is that you might need mega amps for your listening habits with those. I might be 100% wrong, but I thought* I read that, so double check on that.

I vote for hiring Warp to build you LMS cabinets. Since they can handle so much power, get some monster amp(s). :)

Or the IB route too. If there isn't attic space, you can use space under the floor (if there is any). You can have like a box sticking out, like a large cube, and have drivers on all of its sides, for instance.

This is what Mark Seaton told me "The SubMersive does edge out the F113, and is noticeably stronger with music and in overall punch/dynamics, but not by a monumental amount".

It just makes me sick. I am listening to the F113 right now and it is the best sounding, blended in sub I have ever had. It takes what ever I throw at it in regards to music at any volume but it breaks apart quickly with movies. It has me a little confused.

Oh, I think I figured out what I am going to do but I promised I wouldn't talk about it yet.

I am not going IB John...

I've seen where Bossobass glosses over the fact that you do need some serious amps to power his subs which in most cases you'll also have to upgrade your homes electric capabilities to counter electrical sag created by the huge spikes in required power.

I think he was asking me, I have the same driver with a titanium cone, and that 15" can take a beating and put out tons...

Bosso's Subs are exactly the same efficiency as the Submersives, Here is what he PM'd me.
Hey Patrick,

Yes, it's best to contact me via e-mail:

Bossobass.com@mac.com

Ravens in different iterations and the data is fairly well covered on my site:

http://web.mac.com/bossobass.com/iWeb/Site/Welcome.html

I'm working on a new, less labor-intensive (and thus, less costly) version called Blackbird that may also be of interest.

I'll ping you when I get them up and running. I'm working on a few of the last trim pieces now and they're ready to load and test.

Thanks for the inquiry, and I hope all is well with you and yours.

Dave

I am having John from AE Speakers build my new boxes, I was expecting a call from him today on the finished product ready to ship, I should be seeing it this week.... The LMS's do really well in a 2' cubed box, at least they have been for me... In fact I will be having 3 boxes that will be going unused in the near future, but they need veneer - I changed my tact and didn't want to do the veneer until I finalized a design for my scenario.

If your doing your research, you should talk to Jeff at JTR about a pair of Growler Duo's...

Here is the blurb for it:

**The new "Growler Duo" bridges the gap between Home Theater and Professional subwoofers.

I've been told by many people that they want the tight, punchy sound of the Growler subwoofer but also the ability to play low frequency for home theater use.

The Growler Duo has a button on the 4000 watt amplifier, labeled "LOW", that when pushed in, will tune the subwoofer for low frequency reproduction, capable of 122db at 20hz at the sitting position in a home theater and has useful output below (115db at 15hz, 106db at 10hz).

Growler Duo in "LOW" mode is +/-3db from 20-180hz in a home theater room and in normal mode can produce 137db and is +/-3db from 37-180hz, outdoors on the ground.**

30" x 22.5" x 24"
120 lbs

***
$2799

Growlers are well respected in pro-sound, I think this Growler Duo is going to be pretty cool!
