With PS3 and their 3.30 3D capable upgrade, with HDMi 1.3b, how is it possible for Sony to do this ? Will it also be possible with recievers and TV's ?

The PS3's hardware is capable of handling it. If a particular display is not capable of displaying 3D then the answer is no. I saw a blurb about some new technology that said it could make any LCD that was 120Hz or higher work for 3D, but I haven't seen it done.

I remember a long ago interview where a manufacturer was touting 3D as one reason for being the 1st to market with a 120hz set. They stated that by going to 120hz they would soon be able to provide a 60hz quality stutter-free picture with a 3D source.

I assumed that the rep meant using shutter style lens which from my admittedly long ago IMAX viewing experience seemed to be bit dark and stuttery (is that a word?).
