The Force Unleashed 2 Receives Early Praise
04/26/2010 Written by David Griffin

When Star Wars: The Force Unleashed was announced in 2007 and later came out in 2008, it had the audience clamoring for more. It was well received by gamers and Star Wars fans alike, and continues to hold their attention, even today thanks to a recent trophy patch. So when the sequel was first teased back at last year’s Spike TV VGAs, fans have been patiently waiting to unleash more of the force. Even though, there is still much more waiting to be had, you’ll find comfort in knowing that the game’s development is going smoothly

There is a lot to look forward to in the next chapter, including bigger boss fights and the continuation of the story. Even though there has only been one teaser trailer since the announcement of the sequel, the CEO of LucasArts, Darrell Rodriguez, stated the game is coming along “phenomenally”. Darrell continued:

“The progress that our internal team has made from The Force Unleashed to its DLC, then to the Sith Edition which packaged it into one disc, and now TFU2 – well, it’s phenomenal. It looks great and plays well.
“We sold over 7m copies of the first game. It has a big fanbase and we’re confident they will come back. And we’re still in a great relationship with [LEGO developer] TT Games.”

It sounds like the force is definitely strong with this one. Stay tuned to PSLS for more info on Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 a it is announced.

I would buy it if the main character didn't look exactly like the guy who played Doomsday on Smallville. Probably the worst actor of all time.

I liked the first one well enough, but it didn't even come CLOSE to matching the hype. SW:TFU was more a tech demo for Euphoria and Digital Molecular Matter than anything.

That said, I did enjoy the plot elements of the first game and the ties into the Star Wars canon. If the sequel pays more attention to gameplay and design they might have a real winner on their hands.

That is pretty much exactly how I feel about the first one. It could have been better.

That's exactly who the guy is. They motion capped his face. I believe he does the voice as well.

I actually liked the game. But it was the first Star Wars game I ever played.

I'm pretty sure Lucas accepted the 1st one as part of the star wars original fiction, which is impressive. I'm pretty sure that the secret apprentice died in the 1st one though. Maybe there were different endings or something.

Go online NOW and buy/play Knights of the Old Republic. Drop everything else. PC/Xbox, whatever you have to do. You can't possibly do it fast enough.

GO!!!

Oh man KOTOR was the worst star wars game I've ever played. It's semi-turn based fighting system was plain awful.

WORST star wars game? You never played Jedi Outcast or Dark Forces?

Man, you guys are crazy!

Knights of the Old Republic is one of the most highly regarded games on either platform (PC or Xbox), and Dark Forces was one of the pioneers of the look up/down, crouch/jump within the FPS! ... and pretty fun, to boot!

KOTOR FTW! (Not so much KOTOR 2 )

I played the original demo and actually got bored. It just seemed like the same thing over and over again with different objects/scenery... And I hated the combination keys you had to randomly press to defeat the bosses... as if pressing A-A-B-X-A-X has any significance...
