Well, there is another close-by Volcano, "Katla", that's getting overdue for eruption, and it's expected to be at least 10 times more violent than current one.... it erupts with 60 - 80 year intervals, and last major eruption was in 1918...
Look at the sheer size of this eruption
The Diameter of the Katla crater is 10 Km, or 6,5 miles !

At the peak of the 1755 eruption at Katla the flood discharge has been estimated between 200,000–400,000 m³/s; for comparison the combined average discharge of the Amazon, Mississippi, Nile, and Yangtze rivers is about 290,000 m³/s.
How they managed to get color photo of this volcano I don't know.........
It's an increased likelihood of second eruption when a first one starts because of movements in magma and other physical things that I don't understand.....
We're totally grounded here now, I work in another city and can't even get to work.....
Last time Eyjafjallajökull was active in 1821, it lasted for two years, hope it will be shorter this time....
We are indeed very very very small, according to Wikipedia the Krakatau (Indonesia) volcano burst in 1883 had a power that was 13.000 times bigger than the Hiroshima bomb.... (200 megaton TNT)
Sound was so loud that it could be heard in Mauritius, 5000 km away
