Yamaha's "Audio Out" on lower end receivers

Ok, I have to admit this has been bothering me for some time now. What are these outputs for? Are they 2 channel preouts, loop outs, fixed or variable? WHAT ARE THEY FOR!?!

Zone 2? Tape loop? Are they for the mains only?

All I know is it says "Audio Out" and it's often in it's own area. Take a look at the rear of the lower models from Yamaha and you will see what I'm talking about.

Yes, I see what you are talking about. No idea. Like I said though, can probably be used as a "poor man's" zone 2, since they probalby are not separately volume controllable.

Unless you are asking a trick question, they are analog rec outs, 200 mV/1.2 kΩ.
