I am a new kid on the block trying to get some help from the guru's.
In the process of buying Paradigm Studion 100 + CC 690 for center.
a- Not sure if a Denon AVR-4310 would be able to drive these
b- Has anyone heard of emotiva UPA-1 (mono block amps).

Would appreciate your input and guidance.

Regards,
AJ

Looks like you have the start of a nice system there. The Denon will drive the Studios. I personally prefer external amplification and I own the same speakers in v4. The Emotiva UPA-1's would do a very good job. I currently use an XPA-5 for my HT and the Studios. I'd say if the features on the Denon are what you're looking for, go ahead with it. You can always add external amps later on if you feel you need more power. Others may be able to offer other reciever options. I have a UMC-1, but I'm not sure I'd recommend it yet due to some of the bugs.

You may get all sorts of opinions on this. If you believe in science, then you could find the answer by working out the volume of your room, gathering up the Studio 100's specs such as impedance curve, phase angle curve, sensitivity etc., and finally, the SPL you wish to achieve.

The 4310's has been reviewed by the HT mag with lab measurements, so the outcome in your application should be quite predictable. Depending on your specific needs, the 4310 may be more than enough for your speakers or conversely, it may not be enough. The bottom line is, more is better. The 4310 has pre-outs so you have the option to try it out with and without the help of an external amp. If the amp makes enough difference for you then keep it.

I run the same speaker set up with external behringer 1500s running the front channels Im pushing about 280 watts to my studio 100 and my cc690 and I running my studio 20 as surrounds from a yamah RX-V1800 receiver which Im very happy with sound quality the amps gives me enough head room I plan on adding more amps to make up a 7 channel system
