Running a Pioneer Elite VSX92TXh.
Just added a Dayton Titanic Mark III 15"
Reciever will run the sub with certain sources. Here's my short list of what has worked and what hasn't:
Source-Xbox 360.
-playing game---sub is running
-watching show or movie---sub is running
-listening to music---no output to sub
Source-Panasonic BD601
-watching Bluray or DVD---sub is running
-playing cd---no output to sub
-playing 5.1 concert DVD---no output to sub
Not sure what the problem is. I have checked speaker levels and crossover points in the menu and tried some adjusting. Used all the different sorts of processing types and also running direct. Musical sources give me absolutely nothing to the sub.....
Can anyone help?
All the sources in which the sub is silent are ones that do not have a LFE channel.
So on pages 47 and 48 of your manual, I deduce you have your speakers set to large and sub yes. In this set up your sub will be silent unless there is audio present on the 0.1 LFE channel.
You have two options.
If your speakers are capable in the bass you can continue to select large in the speaker set up menu, and also select the plus option in the sub menu. In this setting bass will be sent to your sub as well as the other speakers. Your sub will receive some of the bass from the other speakers and the LFE channel.
Your next option if your speakers are small, and since you are using a receiver you might be better off setting your speakers to small and setting the crossover frequency to 60 or 80 Hz. In this setting your speakers will be shelved below the crossover frequency and you sub shelved above it. The sub will receive all the low bass and the LFE channel.
