Does anyone know where I can get binding posts for the Onkyo sr-506 receiver? I need replacements and Onkyo never got back to me.

Are you the chap, who dropped his receiver off a small unstable table?

How are you proposing to do the repair?

Have you opened the case to see how the connectors mount and or are connected to the amp board?

If not you need to do so, as you may have broken the amp circuit board.

I doubt you will find exact replacements.

This is a pretty good list of binding posts available on the US.

I suspect the correct posts are available only to a warranty repair center, if even them.

If this repair is going to be done outside a warranty repair center at a cost less then a new receiver, it is probably going to have to be done by someone skilled and creative, and likely will require some modification to the unit, if it is possible at all.

Open the unit up and post pictures of the backside of the connectors. If I can see how the binding posts are connected and or fastened to the board, I will give you my opinion on the feasibility of repair.

The receiver never fell off the stand, the speakers did..they were plugged into the receiver and ripped the posts our of it.

It's irrelevant how it got damaged. I wanted to confirm that it was the unit that needed all the posts replaced.

We also have the issue of whether their is further damage.

You need to answer my previous post with pictures, before I can advise you further.

How do I find out what size speaker binding I need for the receiver?

You have to take one of the broken ones out and measure it with a caliper, and get the closest. You may well have to do some modifications if you can't obtain the OEM part which with Far Eastern junk is the rule.

I have the strong feeling you are out of your depth on this one.

I really need some decent photographs to get the lie of the land, so to speak, otherwise I can't help you much.

It really is impossible to advise on a major repair of a complex unit I do not have a service manual for and have never seen without pictures. If you can give me good pictures I will know how feasible a repair is short of having the OEM parts or sending it to an authorized service center.

You may have to cut your losses and replace the receiver unfortunately.

This is especially true as you ran the receiver after attempting improper repair, so there is more than an outside chance all the output devices are shot, due to short circuits created by the damaged posts.

It really is easy to take and post pictures, and that is job one, if you want to get a good repair cost effectively.

I will not advise you further without pictures, other wise we are both wasting our time.

The receiver is at the repair shop. I bought binding from parts express and the binding did not fit apparently.

They are holding on to my receiver until I can find the bindings for it...or I can just tell them to forget it and can wait to get a new receiver.

Just so I know, what would you recommend for a somewhat entry receiver to power my speakers?

Well the repair tech has no creativity or initiative. Get it out of his hands.

If it looks feasible I would be prepared to do the repair for you. I doubt I would be defeated by not having the OEM part.

I do not recommend entry receivers they are junk. You need to go to the mid level at least.

If you lived in Colorado that would be convenient :)

I consider what I have entry level...don't think it's complete junk lol

There is UPS and FedEX.

This is the lowest price receiver recommended on these forums. Onkyo TX-SR607. I would go a bit above that if I were you.
