Well after a LONG wait it has been released from the chassis shop. While it was there it got a cage, adjustable seat mount, harness mounts, front and rear Strange drag brakes, K-Member, Upper and lower A-Arms, spindles, manual steering rack, solid motor mounts, manual brake master cylinder and adapter bracket, aluminum TH400 trans cross member, changed out the rear lower control arms and panhard bar (only non-Midwest Chassis pieces that were left on the car). There is more that I am forgetting, but thats about it. All of the suspension pieces and the cage are all chromolly and light as hell. We took well over 100 lbs off the nose of the car with this suspension. Enough talk, on to the pics!!!

Trailer all hooked up and ready to go

The car was still up on the lift when we got there (gave me a chance to get better pics)

Old motor and trans (Stock LS1 and T-56)

Our first look at finished product!

Without the brakes

From the back side. The second set of holes behind the lower shock mount are for travel limiters.

Stock **** (if you cant tell, its heavy!!)

We ended up selling the motor to someone who works down there, here is the pile of parts we took off.

Car moved back to the main shop area to fit the seat

Set for me

Set for Chris (owner of car)

New steering shaft (also chromolly)

Overall top look

Back on the trailer for the ride home (I'm glad we put those lights on there)

Now that we have the car back, there is a mountain of work that needs to get done. We are hoping to have it running in about 4 weeks and back on the track for tuning shortly after that. I am sure I will update with some pics on here from time to time.

Nice project, I have the LS1 out of a Corvette sitting in my garage waiting for the perfect project. I've measured the pros and cons of ripping the hood off a civic, converting it to RWD and dropping it in there, but I'm not sure yet.

I have the perfect project waiting for an LS1.;)

Rowdy, you didn't say what motor was going back in place of the old LS1. It's a pretty kickin' project.

We are doing a forged bottom end 6.o iron block (LQ9) with Patriot stage 3 heads and a custom cam. Backed by a built TH400 with a brake. Ill post pictures and details as we work on it. The trans is in the garage already, along with the converter, heads got here yesterday, and the bottom end should be shipping tomorrow or friday.

Very nice setup. You sure have it setup for the track.

Makes me miss my mustang since I can't drive it here in South Korea.

What times you looking to run? My best time has been 10.83

Are those drag brakes? They look a little wimpy for the street.

Should be a nice ride. I'm a blue oval guy myself, but I can appreciate a nice GM product.................. a little. :p

Thanks for the kind words guys. Yes those are Strange drag brakes, so limited street use.

Crazy! So what is it for? Drag breaks, so for drag racing? How much an improvement are you hoping to get with all these upgrades?

Yes the car is a drag car. We are hoping for high 9's in the 1/4 mile this year and a little faster next year ;)
