Watched this the other night. For it being something from the creators of Superbad, I thought it would be different than it was. The movie actually has a lot of emotion in it, and the characters seemed very real to me. Actually the first movie I've ever seen with Kristin Stewart in it (I haven't gotten to Twilight yet.... not really planning on it either).

Yeah, they said it almost seems like they presented it as a comedy but it is more of a drama. I have it in my Netflix queue after watching Zombieland because I thought the kid was funny.

It is funny, but in a sort of bittersweet sort of way. A lot of the funny bits deal with the awkwardness of that age (I sure remember the summer before college). I thought the dialog was very real. Let me know how you like it!

I thought it was just okay. Not as funny as it could have been. For a better teenage awkwardness comedy go rent the one and only season of Undeclared.

I thought it was hilarious- the teenage awkwardness added to the comedy for me.... and Bill Hader was absolutely priceless.

Yeah, the trailers made it out to be another Superbad, but it was more of a teen angst drama. I still enjoyed the movie, it just wasn't as funny as I was expecting.

I watched it last night and thought it was pretty good. It is more of an Almost Famous than a Superbad. Good story, well acted and fun. I thought it was funny that they had the comment in there that the story was based on a summer experience of the writer, which is probably why the story was believeable.

It was the writer/director's story of his last summer before going to grad school for a MA in Journalism...ending up having to work at an amusement park/carnival...also, a statement about the best laid plans in that he dropped out shortly after arriving in NY. I enjoyed it quite abit, though the protagonist seemed younger than 22-23, though they did mention it was grad school. That was part of the angst about his virginity.

I loved this movie as I didn't have any expectations going in....I had actually never heard of it.....
