Screw the ale.
I'm pretty sure some pharmacies over there carry a liquid bottle of morphine for oral use over the counter(if you ask for it) for..uhm...ant-diarrhea medication purposes. I forget the name it goes by, but it's only active ingredient is morphine. Not cheap, like $20-$30 a bottle I believe, but definately an entrainment to be had only possible in an an abroad country. Taking more than the recommended dose to go beyond the intended purpose may be something to do on a rainy day.
Only thing sold here(USA) over the counter is Immodium. LOL.
There is also a OTC cough medicine, called Gee's Linctus, I believe, that contains opium, but it also has a cough expectorant, that if you take in high enough dose for the opium to do anything, the expectorant dose would probably be too high and have negative side effects.
