I'm a newbie and I need a little advice

I'm a complete neophyte and my needs are simple. I'm looking for a two zone/source receiver, the ability to play internet radio (whether that be ethernet or wifi doesn't matter to me), and it needs to fit in my cabinet shelf(less than 7 inches in height). I know sonos is also an option with regard to connectivity but would like to avoid for now if possible.

And if i go the ethernet route, can i assume a wifi connection for a yet-to-be-purchased bluray is not an issue? I also have not purchased the tv so everything (tv, bluray) will be latest models available. my budget for the receiver is ~ $1k.

sorry for the novice questions but any suggestions would be helpful.

With regard to this Onkyo, I've looked at it and like it but its nearly 8 inches in height. I hate the idea of drilling holes in the interior of my cabinet because i'm a bigger moron when it comes to tools.

I suppose laying the shelf on top of this receiver (without it resting on side pegs) is an option.

If space is an issue, something like the Marantz NR1501 might fit the bill.
