My new Denon DL-110 is installed and playing. It replaced an old Denon DL-103d that I've had for a really long time and haven't used much because it's old enough that I don't really trust the suspension. I played one album before I replaced it and compared- definitely better separation, bass is punchy but not exaggerated, treble is smooth and extended and I'm a happy camper. It's output is higher than many moving coil models but definitely not as high as a moving magnet. I'll be looking at MC preamps and will take suggestions. I used a Pro-Ject on a client's system and it sounds good but his receiver didn't have an RIAA phono preamp- it only has an input called 'phono'.
