Hi all
I am a total newb and I did something totally idiotic with my new to me Yamaha RX v365. While it was turned on I removed the RCA cables from an audio source and (while still connected to the RX and with it on) dropped them. Unfortunately one of them touched the metal rack all the coponents is setting on and a loud pop from one of the speakers followed. Now as you can guess only one side of the tuner appears to have any sound. Just to eliminate the speaker as the problem I did change it out with an unconnected set and still nothing out of that channel. Where should I head next? I have fairly decent abilities although have not delved much into electronics.

Any help would greatly be appreciated,
Cheers

What a pity!

I would try a system reset and pray you get lucky. I fear however you have blown the output devices on that channel. If so that is nothing you will fix without instruments and a service manual.

I assume the unit is under warranty, but ethics would require you be honest about your mistake. I would talk to Yamaha.

If they will not help you, your cheapest solution will be to order a new unit. I doubt anyone will do that repair for less than the cost of the unit.
