Polk RTi12 Terminal Question

I finally got my RTi12's connected in the HT room, but I want to make sure I have them hooked up right at their rear terminals...at the rear of these towers are two sets of binding posts (gold plated) which are there for bi-amping, I assume; I will not be bi-amping but instead running the speakers in normal setup...the manual for the RTi12's indicated hooking the speaker cables up to the top set of terminals for normal connection, not the bottom...is this correct?

In other words...each RTi12 has two sets of speaker wire terminals, one set on top of the other. Since I'm running the system normally, not bi-amped, I have connected the speaker wire leads to the TOP set of terminals, not the bottom set...is this correct on the RTi12's?

There should be a bridging strap of some kind between the upper/lower terminals so it really doesn't matter.

6 of one half dozen of the other. It should make no difference; not sure why they would actually comment in the manual that there would be a preference.

Not sure they indicated a "preference," but the picture showed the wires being put into the TOP terminals for "standard connections"...

Does it matter which terminals are used? Should the top set be OK for normal operation?

It definitely does not matter. As long as the bridging straps are still in place, of course. I'm sure the wires were only connected to the top terminals for illustration purposes. They had to pick one of the pairs. It could just as easily have been the bottom pair when they added the illustration to the manual.

Even if they weren't, all you would need to do is drop in a piece of speaker wire between them. They are for biamping - it allows you to connect separate amps channels to each set of terminals and the crossover is partially separated internally.
