HA! Well Emotiva had what almost 3yrs of delays to prepare the brainwashing prior to its roll out.....what did you expect? Emotiva is like Walmart, everyone on a budget loves em and for the most part its a good deal...........but not the best that can be had.
Oh wait, I must be bitter cause I own a D2V.:D

I'm planning on getting the Denon AVP-A1HDCI next year.

I don't think it's a rip off.

It's only a rip off if you can't afford it.:D

A $1,000,000 speaker system is a rip off because I'm not a billionaire.:D

So it's a bonus then.:D

A cheap $300 receiver w/ 7.1 Ch pre-outs is basically a cheap $300 pre-pro with the added bonus of 7Ch of cheap amps.

If your ext amp fails, you could then use those bonus 7Ch amps to power your speakers.

What great value!:)

I couldn't disagree more. How much money you have has nothing to do if something is a good deal. Take for instance 5 dollar footlongs. Why would I spend 10 bucks on a sweet onion chicken teriyaki when I can get a super delicious footlong meatball for 5 bucks? I can easily afford the 10 dollar sub, but I don't need nor want a slight upgrade for double the price. The sweet onion chicken teriyaki is a rip off.

I know what you're thinking....damn his logic is rock solid.

Speaking of Subway. They advertise 5 dollar any REGULAR foot long.
Now it's up to local store to decide what to consider regular. About 5 moths ago in Clearwater Walmart subway i had footlong meatball for $5, few weeks ago in Woodbury common outlets Subway i had exactly same footlong meatball for $7.50.

Now this what I call rip-off....

I specifically asked to provide a quote for new unit. Me and you both would gladly buy refub for best value, however I get the feeling OP was referring to lack of affordable pre-pros as a general market category.
Imo technically refub units would considered a second hand units so don't really count...

When a sandwich stays on my AV rack for 5yrs instead of in my bowels for 5 hrs I will consider that a more valid arguement:D

Yes, however, I hate Subway subs. I don't ever want to eat another sub from Subway. I think they suck. So to me, a $5 footlong from Subway is a total rip-off. I wouldn't even eat it for free.:eek:

I had no idea I got ripped off by buying the D2v, and not just ripped off once on the Pre-Amp, but twice when I bought the speakers too....
Not that I would ever pay retail or even buy anything unless I'm getting a ridiculously awesome deal, cause thats what I generally tend to do....

3 x Dual Opposed 18" LMS subs are getting thrown into the mix - custom boxes and more amps to boot...

Who the hell sold me on all that.... Ripped Off once again...:eek: anyone got a bridge to sell me...?

Your not alone, I and my father both got ripped off with our D2V but we are rich fools with sucker written on our heads.......we are humbled to know there are others far smarter than us to point out how we enjoy this hobby is ridiculous. Sorry I gotta run, I am gonna go waste some money on something else........wish somebody could save me from myself:D

When I posted that link, it was actually $399.98!

Now they increased the price by $50.
