Well I picked up Rambo yesterday because I had heard some pretty good things about it and it was on sale. So, right off the bat the picture quality was lacking, honestly it looked like a regular DVD was playing and not a 1080p movie. Luckily for me that was pretty much the only complaint I had with the movie.

The sound was very well done, and the movie itself was probably the best of the Rambo series. The special effects were intensely gorey, which I wasn't expecting but it definitely added to the overall mood of the film. I am also glad they focused on the war in Burma, as it added a real present day feel. Overall I would give the movie a 7/10 and definitely worth a rent, or a buy if you can find it cheap.

It was good and that is two for two with Sly. I liked "Rocky Balboa" a lot too. Lets hope he makes three for three with his next one too. Any movie where Jet Li fights Dolph Lungren can't be bad.

I wonder if there was a problem with your copy, IIRC, Highdefdigest.com gave the PQ 4.5 stars. I thought the PQ was quite good, it was very colorful and detailed.

I liked the movie and thought it was pretty well done. For a movie that was brutal and messy, I found it delivered a pretty strong message against conflict. The gore was to show how unpleasant these things are, not to celebrate it.

There was another thread with a good review of this movie last year.

This view is hilariously naive. I enjoyed the movie, but it glorified conflict- it was an advocate of violence, not a denouncement. The last 15 minutes was just a blood orgy, and it was war porn at it's finest. You are kidding yourself if you think this movie is anything but a celebration of righteous carnage.

I don't know your background and I won't get into mine. ;) What I find to be naive is the assumption that someone is ignorent and uneducated on a subject because they don't share your viewpoints. You might want to consider that next time before you post...
