Cerwin Vega CMX-12s vs. Boston Acoustics HPS 12HO

I need some advise on which sub I should get.
I would be using it as a second subwoofer for my setup. I have an ONKYO SR-607 Amp 7.2.
My other sub is a cheaper nock off 10" sub.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

How big is the space - total volume?

While you figure that out I'd be reading the Hsu Research site, and SVSounds' site. Perhaps eD as well but I haven't heard one of theirs yet. Whatever you choose should be big enough to do the job by itself.

Hi Sholling, the whole rec room is about 15 feet by 30 feet, but the home theatre area is about 1/2 that, probably 13 by 15 ish.

With subwoofers you need to count the entire space. So assuming you have 9' ceilings that's 4000cuft. That's a big space. I'd contact SVS and eD and see what they suggest. For that size space the least expensive that Hsu recommends from their product line is this one. I think you're going to need to plan to spend that much if you want to really do it right.

The drop ceiling in the basement is around 71/2 feet high.
The HSU you mentioned in only 250W. Aren't both of the others 300W?
Am I missing something? is it the Hz?
I don't know a lot about the technical aspects of sound but I do know what sounds good. I have a wicked ear for that.

Price

The other aspect is I can get the Boston Acoustics for $395.00 plus taxes and the Cervin Vega for $450.00.

Watts dont equate to louder and better One member is driving his diy sub with 125w amp and will rattle your eyeballs

Update Purchase

Just as a update I purchased the Boston Acoustics CPS 12Wi Wireless-Ready.
Hooked it up last night and man it's nice
I still have to do some configurations but I hoping a made a good purchase.
