I have been wanting to get a road bike for some time now and I finally took the plunge. 675 out the door, but I changed out the pedals and had to get shoes, so 820 all said and done. I know it is not a Masi, Serrota, Top of the line Trek or Cannondale, but it is the most bike I could for my budget. Al frame, carbon fork and post, Shimano components. It is a lot of bike for 675 actually. I still need to make a few adjustments but I like it so far. I have never owned this brand before, but it looked better than some treks and specialized and was a little less than both.

Ive always liked their lines. Ive had one of the their MTBs and throughly enjoyed it till I cracked the frame:D Which component group did it come with? Is this you first time riding with cleats?

Rear derailer is Shimano Sora, Cranks is FSA Vero, Shifters are Shimano, Rims are Alex rims. Don't know how all that stuff ranks but it all looks nice. Yes first time with cleats. Last bike had straps. I like them a lot.

I really need to get my bike up and running. I haven't riden in a long time. I'll have to get some pics up some day...I have a Santana Moda. Hand welded elliptical aluminum. The brake carrier broke and they don't make these particular ones anymore (hydraulic Maugra PADS not disc ) I am going to switch to disc now I guess. Since I was riding both on and off, I still use straps, but I like clips better than straps.

Nice Bike.:D

I've been riding for many years and race occasionally. I have a couple of road bikes. That Giant should serve you well. An Al frame will last a long time is corrosion resistant and will handle falls and other abuse better than a carbon frame. Carbon and Ti offer a better ride but go way up in price.

You will have a few moments while you get adjusted to cleats but once your body learns the motion to get out it will be like second nature.

Have fun.:)

Thanks all and after talking to my friend who keeps up on all the bikes stuff and has worked for years repairing both bikes and cycles. I feel even better about my purchase. He said the Cane Creek headset, FSA crank, and AlexRims double walled rims was all really good stuff:D Looks like I got a good deal for $675

I love the Giant. I have one that I use as a commuter. It is the OCR, I think. I think when you practice getting in and out of the clipless. It is good to do it at the park. where the grass is a bit softer than the aspahult when you crash until you get used to it.

Bikes are awesome. Almost more awesome than HT. Have fun, it makes you feel young again.

Nice-lookin' bike.

Man, I haven't been on a bike in YEARS. But I was a mountain biker. I should get my Specialized out of storage. But I would probably get laughed at. I bought that thing back in college. It's probably ancient technology now. :D

Nice choice. My brother does a lot of riding and racing and his latest bike is also a Giant. I couldn't believe how light it is compared to his other bikes.

Contact the dealer and let them know that they forgot the tassles and training wheels.

I like it. I used to have a Giant road bike but then I got into mountain biking and never went back to the road so I sold it. I then got heavy into mountain biking and got a Lightspeed.

Got burned out, sold it and then a year later got a Specialized EPIC.
