I need two subwoofer cables and two digital coax cables.

Monoprice's site is shut down for now, so I figured I'd give Blue Jeans a try:

To buy from Blue Jeans would cost $80 plus shipping - Ouch!

Monoprice's price would run about $30 plus shipping.

I would like cable which is more pliable than the monoprice RCA cables I have bought in the past.

It seems like there ought to be something in between.
Is there a happy medium?
I wouldn't mind paying more for a better cable, but not 2.66 times as much!

Does monoprice offer an upgraded product or do any B&M offer a decent product at a good price?

Thanks!

Invest in a compression tool and rca tips, buy some rj6 / rg59 and make your own :D It will pay for itself. Then you can make all of your analog cable to the EXACT length you need and keep installs looking neat:)

I should probably look into one of those compression tools and make all my cords the right length, cable management is my biggest HT issue.

Tight cable management - thumbs up !!

I agree a clean tight HT is the best and messy cables can quickly dimnish the asthetics and aura.

Cable management at the cabin took some careful planning since I had tile everywhere. I used double sided tape cut ot wiresize and ran extra distance by tacking the wire almost invisably out of site along the outer baseboard as close to the floor as possible.

P.S. - Updated to low end Sony BRAVIA to get 1080p  ..couldn't handle 480i CRT

P.S.S. - to OP - stranded wire is more flexible than solid ( however most the bigger gauges are stranded only..at least in speaker wire) and you might want to consider one higher gauge number ( smaller wire) to obtain more flexibility. I actually went with 18 gauge at cabin for the express purpose of flexibility. The runs are pretty short ( longest even around the perimeter baseboard from far left speakers is probably only 20 feet, 25 tops) and I notice no discernable signal loss

Our prices on those items are a lot higher due to the fact that we manufacture them in-house with US labor and US cable stock. If you're looking for Chinese cable like Monoprice sells, try our economy cable site, Tartan Cable (www.tartancable.com)

Seriously, I have no life.
If people want to pay wholesale prices, they could always go into business, but then they would have to buy 500' and 1000' rolls of several types. Then, they'd need to buy ends in several forms, in the quantities the suppliers sell- often 50 or 100 in a package. Buying 10 is too much on a per piece basis. :D

Now, why is it that sellers need to mark up their goods? Oh, yeah- it's because they have to stock this stuff and it ties up an incredible amount of money.

I don't know if this is the best price available, but Parts Express has one on sale now.

Compression Tool

Tool Kit, case, & assorted connectors
The kit with the connectors isn't something I would get. Just get the specific connectors that you need for the specific wire you want to use. I have that crimp tool, F connectors and RCA connectors for RG6 Quadshield. You need their cable stripper too.

However if I had KEW's money I would throw mine away and just get the BJC stuff. :)

BJC's Tartan line is what is competitively priced with places like Monoprice. That said, the Canare connectors that BJC offers on their cables are superior to what Monprice uses IMO. I find they offer the perfect connection, not too tight or loose. The worst thing in the world is trying to pull a super tight connection off the back of your AVR. We have all had to do it at one time or another...it is a *****. I never have that problem anymore with the BJC cables.

I love the BJC RCA cables. For the price, they are excellent quality and I will most likely be using these exclusively from now on. The connectors are Taversoe now, but I believe they are similar or the same as the Canare and I agree, they are probably the best connectors on the market that I've tried.

There is no way I'm using any other kind of interconnect cables except for Blue Jeans Cable!

I've used Monoprice, Audioquest, Monster, Vampire Wire, Kimber Kable, & Outlaw Audio.

I think BJC is simply the best when it comes to QUALITY.
