Okay, I got mine working now. Here's what I did:
1. Connected sw to AVR with RCA -> 2xRCA wire (to both left and right input in the sw)
2. Sw volume to maximum position (instead of 12 o'clock position recommended in the manual)
3. Low pass filter to 45Hz from the sw (instead of 35Hz recommended in the manual)
4. Did Audyssey automatic calculations, then finetuned the results by myself
5. From AVR Tone Control I increased bass to +3 (default was 0)
6. I set all speakers to Small (10.6 and 10 CM are recommended to be set to Large in the manual, but I prefer it this way)
7. I played some bass heavy music in the background and then made some minor changes to my AVR settings for stereo music listening just by listening with my bare ears
8. I played a movie with some good action scenes in the background (Transformers etc.) and then made some minor changes to my AVR settings for 5.1 digital sounds just by listening with my bare ears
With lower volumes the subwoofer is pretty quiet, but when I turn up the volume (when watching movies for example) it really starts to kick in.
I'm pretty satisfied with the results now.
