M&K Column Surrounds advice

Hi fellas :)

I would like either some M&K CS22/29/35s or CS150 to go with my M&K 850s. I realise the C22's are more discreet, but I am not bothered if the CS150s are in view.

I am a bit worried the CS150s would not be quite high enough, whereas the CS22/29/35s have upward-firing sound? How do the range compare? Are the CS150 the ulitimate M&K surrounds?

Thanks :)

The column surrounds were designed to fit behind a couch and can offer a solution for some people who aren't able to wall mount a surround. It's really kind of hard to say what "the ultimate surround" is. There are many factors to consider. Some would say a s150 or a ss150 might be better, depends on your space, system, personal preference, etc. I'm very happy with my ss150's and the larger s150's didnt' work for me as surrounds (too big for my tiny place).

The CS150's are essentially an upward firing SS150 on a pedastal whereas the CS22/29/35's (# is height) are an upward firing surround with a woofer element at the base (IIRC). Again, what is "best" is whatever works the best in your particular situation.

Thanks for the reply, from the dreamhomecinema website (can't post links as I need 5 posts) states that the CS150 are front firing speakers. So basically are they the same as SS10 on stands?

I looked in my old catalog, you're right the CS150's are forward firing unlike the rest of the series that fires upward. I've only seen and heard in person the upward firing column surrounds and I liked them.

Here is a link to the column surrounds spec sheet that will tell you more.
