Kind of hard to search on this one, so not sure if there was already a thread on it or not, but just finished watching this one from Netflix and it was pretty good. A lot of friends said it was just average, but I liked it. It was very well thought out and well done. The animation is excellent and extremely detailed. The story is a bit odd, but the short story feel still came across and ultimately I found it satisfying. It wasn't an instant classic, but it was good. One excellent reason to rent this one though is the sound. The dts-HD track has a lot of activity and a ton of LFE. I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5 overall and would call it a worth while rental.

If you are unfamiliar with the background of this one, the director did a short of this for his college thesis as an animator and it won such wide acclaim (nominated for an academy award) that he was approached to redo it as a feature. The most interesting thing about this guy is he is the director but he is also an animator (he animated the first film by himself), so he totally understands how it works and that results in something that is a little bit different than most animated features IMO.

The LFE on this one is really nice too. Up there with Terminator Salvation for quantity. A little infrasonic, but I'd say mostly mid to upper 20s range.

Can't wait to hear the LFE, my subs crave it, and so do I!

Finally got around to watching this last night, and the LFE did not dissapoint, nor did the rest of the audio, and the video was stunning as well. The story was decent, and I was hoping for a better ending, but overall it wasn't bad, especially considering the short run time. This is worth a rental, but not something I would likely watch many times, but it would make for a great demo disc.
