A Momentary Lapse of Reason

I'm listening to Pink Floyd - A Momentary Lapse of Reason- on CD.

I,m playing it through my Denon 2910 through the 7.1 analogue inputs- of course it is two channel. The DACS in the old 2910 are pretty good. I'm feeding it to a Outlaw 990 AVP 7.1 analogue inputs and then out to my Outlaw 770 amp. The speakers being used are my Precise Acoustic Monitor 10 ($1,000 ea. or 2k for pair).
It sounds pretty darn good at - 5dB on the 990's volume- afraid of 0 dB reference level.
It's not too bad for a lower priced system.

System price, of course, is a relative matter. Enjoyment of the music is paramount. My opinion of AMLOR is that its perhaps the weakest album in their catalog. But its just an opinion, it means nothing to anyone but myself. ;)

I love that CD, I was asked at my 10 and 20 year reunion what song reminds me most of my high school days and I said both times "Learning to Fly" by Pink Floyd which came out the year I graduated 1987.

Good Disc. Terminal Frost and On The Turning Away are my two favorites off of it. That Tour was also my first Concert in 1988, on their 2nd trip to Detroit.

I'm still glad I got to see Gilmour and Rick in 2006 before passed on.

If you don't have David Gilmour: Live in Gdansk, I'd recommend it more than ANY Roger Waters Live CD/DVD out there.

What a co...

Hello, I was just listing to the
Delicate Sound Of Thunder CD that I picked up this weekend
used for $15.
I have Momentary as well.
My question is:
Does anybody here know IF and WHEN
Pink Floyd is going to Release
Delicate Sound Of Thunder on DVD? The official one, not bootleg.
Ironically, i'm noticing that ALOT of Famous bands have
live titles that are now
out of print.
Rush- Different Stages,
P.F.- Delicate Sound Of Thunder.
Best buy in my area has had these BACKORDERED for at LEAST
6 months now. When I found D.S.O.T on CD USED for $15, I
had to get it, DESPITE ALL of the SCRATCHES on it.

This has been the source of debate as DSOT was a more "raw" release (only a single song was touched up and barely at that) than Pulse and it's tough to discern Pulse from the Shows I saw. My first concert was Floyd in 1988.

There has never been a release date for DSOT, it is merely subject to rumor. As far as I know, there are no plans to release it on DVD. I kept the VHS tape I have, but would love the DVD. Those that foist off Video CD's of DSOT as DVD's are known and well-avoided.

If ever released, it won't be this year.

As for Different Stages, try a different chain/website. Website used to be an excellent source, but as of late, they seem to cater to the Lady Gaga crowds of pop. The Trees from that CD package is my favorite. 2112 was good too.

I thought for sure that the song "One Slip" was going to be a single from that CD. Love that song.

DSOT was one of the finest concerts ever filmed. I would be a travesty if they don't put this on blu-ray with substantial remaster. Pulse does not hold a candle to DSOT. Why this has not been released on DVD or Blu-ray I can't fathom. RELEASE IT AND THEY WILL BUY IT!

wish you were here was the first cd i listened to after putting my first av setup together using 683 b&ws. i really don't like anything from the final cut on. to me, waters is the heart and soul of floyd.

on another note, i'm not crazy about covers, but have any of you guys listened to claypool's live frogs concert?

from wikipedia:
Live Frogs Set 2 is the second set of live recordings by Les Claypool's Frog Brigade, released on July 24, 2001. The album is a complete performance of the Pink Floyd studio album Animals. It is introduced at the end of Live Frogs Set 1 as "more Pink Floyd than any human being should ever withstand", as the band's version of "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" comes to an end.
it's amazing!
