after all my research, advice, and going crazy on deciding on a sub....i decided to go for the PA-120 sub. My home theater is a huge room and the couple other sub people suggested just seemed toooo big.

I was looking at the HSU but heard/read that it was basically a music sub. Plus shipped, $258, it was almost $100 cheaper. Ordered from sound distributors, anyone ever order from there?

You read wrong. HSU subs tend to be a bit more detailed than their competition, but they're also no slouches when it comes to HT. For example, the STF-2 has usable output all the way down to 20Hz. In any case, the PA-120 is a good sub which you should be happy with.

I was really hooked on the HSU.....but the 'music' part put me toward the PA-120 cuz it was cheaper....now I'm having my doubts!!!!!!!:confused::confused::confused::confused::eek:

I'm in the opposite situation. I'm leaning towards the PA-120 but have concerns with reviews that say it is weak with music (but extremely strong with HT).

A few folks have posted that tyey have turn the PA-120 way up when they listen to music CD's to get anything noticeable out of it.
