Receiver with two 5.1 zones..

I am currently looking to upgrade my existing Home Theater equipment. My current configuration uses two receivers: 1) Indoor Home Theater and 2) Outdoor Home Theater. The two receivers receive the same source information (Blu Ray, Satellite, etc.) through creative splitting.

Both theaters run 5.1 surround systems.

I am currently researching to determine if a receiver exists that can output two HDMI connections, as well as support multiple 5.1 configurations. Such that, the following examples would work:

1. Indoor Home Theater with Outdoor Theater turned off. Indoor 5.1 speakers turned on, outdoor 5.1 speakers turned off, LCD TV is connected via HDMI to Receiver.

2. Outdoor Home Theater with Indoor Home Theater turned off. Outdoor 5.1 speakers turned on, indoor speakers turned off, LCD Project is connected via HDMI to Receiver.

3. Indoor and Outdoor Home Theater turned on. Indoor 5.1 speakers turned on, outdoor 5.1 speakers turned on. LCD TV and LCD Projector both turned on. All information received from single source device, such as Blu Ray or Satellite.

The outdoor speakers are 8 ohm, 125 Watts, whereas internal speakers are 4 ohm, 100 Watts. I am just trying to get an idea on how I am going to do this upgrade on whether or not I have to stay with two receivers or if the possibility exists to go to a single receiver.

Thanks for everyone's help!

No such receiver exists. The most cost effective setup is dual receivers like you have now.

Both the Z11/5308 would require a separate 5-ch amp (maybe 3-ch, I'd have to dig deeper).

The Denon 4810 might work with a 2-ch amp, would need to look further also.
