Haha!

You two are too funny!

I wish I lived closer to come check it out/help. It doesn't help that I am always busy either.

I love the candle. You should get 3-4 more.

I'm looking online for some taller candles... :D

On a secondary note.... last night we did some measuring and adjusting of the sub, EQing with the SMS-1. Hopefully he will post some pics - ungodly flat.

Plus moving the speakers up to the plateaus in the corners turned out to sounds exceptionally good... Just need to get some acoustic panels installed back there.

Yeah I'm quite happy with it....Patrick hooked me up with one of his buddies that gave me a rack and some other free stuff. So I will be setting that up this week some time....

I have been in contact with Bryan at Gik and he advised that I not put the speakers in the recessed area on either side of the fireplace as it will cause an increase in boundary interactions......I've never been good with boundaries anyway....But in all seriousness I will be pitting some Tri Traps in the corners to start.....and will treat the room as budget allows down the road.

Here is one of the EQ sweeps from the best seat in the house. Crossing over to the sub at 80Hz.

Hey any time you wanna come over you are always welcome Rob. I know you have kids, so its a bit harder to get together than it would be for Patrick and I, not to mention the distance.

That is really nice in-room response you have!

When the next GTG is planned I will do all that I can to attend. It would be a lot of fun to hang out. So long as I can get an advance notice it should be all good.

Have you thought about building your own panels in there? I plan to build some of my own soon. I have a few designs put together in my head. I just need to find a nice fabric supplier here in the fax valley area. Though it would help if I started actively looking. :D

Good to hear you are going to show your face man!

Yes I am actually going to make an attempt to build my own panels with Patrick's help. We found a fabric supplier here in Milwaukee, but I need to find a place that will do some screen printing. I had originally wanted to do some type of movie poster art for the acoustic panels but wasn't sure what I wanted. I was poking around the other day and came across this.

My only concern with the screen printing is whether it will inhibit sound passing through.... That wouldn't be good..

Yes I agree....IDK what they use for screen printing.....

My thought with those type of pictures is that I can use the same fabric in a different color to get the 2 tone images on there. Thus eliminating any need for painting and also giving it a cool raised affect.

IDK...what do you guys think?

What about seeing as to whether or not they can micro perf the screen print? Then it should be no issue at all.

Keep me posted on your acoustic panel build!!

With this type of image, it should be possible to just spray a dye through a template set up. The dye will not effect sound absorption properties. The template set up may be time consumer here (manually adhering all of the smaller inset pieces for prep), but the result would be ideal.

So I'm assuming that you guys are in agreement that this would be a cool concept?

Cool I will check into that.
