Anyone familiar with Earthquake Thor-10?

Hi all!

I am working on putting in an in-wall system for my family room (primarily TV and movies). I have been looking at subs and received a recommendation that I should really look at in-wall subs that have enclosures.

So I have been looking at an Earthquake Thor-10 system:

I can get it for about $700 with the amp and I can't find a lot of reviews on it, but was hoping some of you may have some insight. Let me know your thoughts!

Sorry I'm not familiar, and inwall woofers are not a really huge market, so you don't see alot of people posting about them....

Personally I think your could do better then that 10" inwall deal...

If you have heard it and like it, then its all on you, but you could build a far better sub for cheaper, or get a much better bang for your buck then that unit I would think....

If you are serious about HT - the new Epik Empire would absolutely blow that puny little fart box out of the world... info can be found here

Plus on top of that, you will be able to work out any placement issues that arise instead of being stuck with the location that an inwall sub problem it creates.

I'm with ya, the problem is the room where we are putting this is a fairly open family room with limited space (due to kids and furniture), so I really don't have much choice beyond going inwall. When we build our next house, then I'll have a dedicated HT room where I can put the "real" equipment, but unfortunately I don't have the room or the resources right now.

I've been scoping a couple of inwall subs, but the ones I have been seeing are:
* Artison RCC 300
* Speakercraft Cinema Sub 12
* Earthquake Thor-10
* Triad Bronze 4

I can work a deal with the Earthquake right now, but I don't want to pull the trigger unless I know that's the way to go. Unfortunately, as you mentioned, there just isn't a lot of info on inwall subs. The other detail is that we don't have much of a real audio shop anywhere beyond Best Buy.... ugh.

What are the other speakers you're using? I wouldn't expect much output below 30 Hz. The Triad shows a -3dB @ 20Hz, I just don't see how that's achievable with these designs.:confused:

AVRat ---

Going with inwalls all the way around... 3 Triad Bronze/4 LCR for Left, Right, and Center... and 2 Triad Bronze/4 Surrounds for rears....

Based on some other info... I am actually now into looking at the Artison RCC 300 or Triad Slimsub as a matcher...
