Terrible looking projection - Fixable?

Hey guys, here's a couple of pictures of what I'm seeing. The blobs are greenish in color and as you can see there's one big one in the middle and the rest of the image is less than perfect (Including the "EA" logo burned in on the bottom left from Madden, and a heart beat sensor from the most recent game played on it). It's still definitely usable, but the blobs are distracting and I know everything I'm seeing is off-color (Snow is supposed to be white, right? not yellow?:( ) If I had to guess, I'd say it looks like I burned/melted something inside the projector, but I'm a n00b, so I'm asking around. Any ideas? It's a Panasonic PTAX200U. Had it since Christmas 2007, my family has put over 7,000 hours on it, We're in the middle of our third lamp.

Looks like polarizers may be gone. Basically, this is expensive to the point of being a terminal failure for this product. With the level of use you guys have it really requires a focussed attention on proper maintenance for longevity.

Might be worth getting a good DLP instead of a LCD to avoid polarizer issues, or one of the new 1080p models with inorganic LCD panels.

Yo BMX, how exactly would one execute "proper maintenance" with a PJ that uses organic panels? Dankz.

The projector should not be left on for more than 8 hours at a time, it should be placed in a cool, properly vented area, and the filters should be cleaned at least one a week under heavy usage, and replaced with a lamp change at the scheduled interval.

This won't guarantee longevity, but will help immensely.

DLP doesn't have the same issue, but color wheels and their motors definitely do have issues.

I think keeping the projector cool and with good airflow is the key.

The white color appears to be yellow... so then you will have to replace the polarizers... that is the solution to get the proper color..
