Hey Guys,
I understand that some new blu ray players have 5.1 and 7.1 analog audio out jacks now on board. Is the hdmi signal running seperate from this or not?In otherwords, can you seperate the hdmi video portion of the signal from the analog output jacks. I run my system through a e.q. and a yamaha dsp1 signal sound processor. I currently have a toshiba hd player that runs all signals through hdmi. I cannot seperate the audio for additional processing unless its sound only and no picture on the screen. My thought is that you could run the new audio outs for sound, but would have to use the componet or optical outs for the picture. Can anyone give me a heads up? Thanks

I would say that if your BD player can internally decode the 5.1 or 7.1 Dolby trueHD, then I don't see why you could not send the video through the HDMI and the audio out from the 5.1 or 7.1 output. The question then will be, will you be able to process that before of after it is input to the receiver?

Blue ray player with no 5.1 audio jacks out

Hi,
maybe you can help me. I bought a LG Blu-ray DVD player BD 370, but on the back side it has only hdmi connector and two connectors for audio (stereo).
Please advice is there any adapter converter HDMI-audio jack 5.1 in order to connect home 5.1 speakers.

Best regards,

HERRPAN

Yes, there is typically a setting for whether or not audio is passed via HDMI or another output such as analog or optical/coaxial digital as the manufactuerers know not everyone has a HDMI receiver. I would expect nearly all players have this capability. My Oppo, PS3 and Panasonic all do.
