Thanks for the link. thats the kinda help i was looking for. :) They do say free shipping on the site i linked to though.
Well, Neweggs price even with shipping is still lower, but I didn't really tried hard - I know I seen these closer to $99. Newegg was just one of first I found.
I typically furniture prices have high margins and you can always find a better deal.

I have the both of those that you linked, they were great until I had a kid. Only other nag I have about it is the exposed wires.

This is what I'm probably going to get in the next couple days as I need something with doors and more than four shelves:

Thanks for the info Matt. I know cable management is going to be a problem.I like the look of that stand for sure but still want someting a little modern looking.

I have a quick question the stand i am looking at says it does have a cable management system so how are exposed wires a problem.

Thanks,

PB

It's not too bad if you take the time to organize but it is opened-shelf and my OCD kicks in every time I walk past it and can see all the exposed wires in the back.

Not to change your mind....but, check out VTI Stands. Check out the 'BL Series' they're strong and you can add to them also. They have COOL SPIKE supports that really help them look nice in a room. Just take a peek.

The only problem with the VTI stands are the shelves themselves. They are really thin, so very heavy gear won't do so well with them (think big amps). Otherwise, they are a good product.

That was one reason I bought the VTI in the BL Series, is because it was strong enough to hold my 75lb Emotiva Amp. I like the cross braces underneath for extra support. The amp was soo heavy I almost needed help getting it on the shelf.

This is the Z-Line designs stand I just purchased: http://shop.bjs.com/Z-Line-Designs-Bentwood-50--34--Wide-TV-Stand-with-Integrated-Mount--Mahogany--Metal---Glass_stcVVproductId79418416VVcatId550151VVviewprod.htm

I saw it in person at BJ's Wholesale club in FL but it is not listed on the z-linedesigns.com website so maybe it is an older now discontinued version or proprietary to BJ's. Z-line has many other stands that are similar but most are only 44" wide. I was actually able to measure the shelves at the store and for once - a stand with enough clearance between shelves to hold a receiver.

I only have 86" of flat wall space and my current all wood stand is 65" wide. It limits me to a center channel that is 19-20" wide and also makes the wall look crowded. I think these modern looking stands are nice and allows a more contemporary look for the room.

And...IT IS CHEAP! (Not cheaply made, talking price of course)

I did take a peek, I like the look of it. I am little worried about wire management on this stand. It does not say anything about it. Anyway thanks for your option.

I would like your input on my future purchase of a tv stand and component rack. These two pieces are my first choices but i do what someone your option about this purchase. The component rack is really for future toys. I just want to purchase them the same time is all.

Thanks,

PB
I apologize in advance if I am coming out of left field, and that my proposed idea is completely useless to you.

How about a $50 Monoprice wall mount for the TV. Another $50 for a 35 ft HDMI cable from the same retailer. Or less in length. $80 for a URC RF200 remote system, with blaster, and emitters. So far that totals just $180. Just get that Sanus rack, or a rack like Studio Tech modular that I use.

Then you can enjoy:

- a super clean look, since no electronics need to be in sight
- enjoy superior visual contrast, and better immersion, since there are no unnecessary lights
- have the space/ability to use a third identical speaker, vertically arrayed, as center speaker (this is by far the biggest advantage)
- no large resonant, diffracting, reflecting mass between and touching your speakers.

I shoot out the above every once in a while, and do so again here, just in the case that this is both actually possible, and that you haven't yet considered it.

If I were to setup my main HT using a flat panel, the above is exactly what I would aim to do, if possible. My best, and good luck.
