Nope, not too big at all. In fact you will only barely start to notice the improvement with 1080. To get the full benefit, assuming 20/20, you need to have about an 80" TV from 11'.

THX recommends slightly over 98" from 11'.

IOW, 58" is not too big, unless perhaps standard def is your thing. I forgot the last time I watched SD, I think it was '07.

Yeah, at 11' look for the largest you can afford.

We have 60" from 12' - it's not close to to big. A 65" Panasonic would do you very nicely at 11' if you can afford it.

Yup, like the others said 58" will be fine from 11 feet.

My viewing distance is about 8 feet from my 50" 500M.

I sit about 10' from my 54"-PannyV10 and in my opinion, a 58" or 65" would NEVER be too big!

My opinion is go as big as you can afford without sacrificing in quality. Keep in mind whether or not you or friends will ever be watching from the floor or closer than you might normally. I like everyone to enjoy a great picture wherever they are setting or laying.

I'm about 12'-14' away from my 65" RPTV. I'm very comfortable with it and would go bigger if I could afford it. Or get it past the financial controller...:D

At 11', 58" would be just fine.;)

I sit 8 feet away from my 58". If you can swing it, I'd go for the 65".

Aside from all the potentially-rising-black-level hubub, I'd still go with one of the Panasonic plasmas. Those V10s are awful nice, but the G10s and S1s (which I have) are no slouches either.

I totally agree with you on going big. The viewing experience really matter. I watch my 50" tv from about 8-10 feet and when party is going in house then no viewing distance :) find which ever place is available. :cool:

finishers = mitchkid = Shadowmonic

I'm out of rep for the day. Just look up dates of latest posts for first two members.

Oh, I DEFINITELY reported finishers waaaaaaaay early. Very most likely day #1.
