Let's say there's some soft of playoff system designed. Extra games will be played to arrive at a winner. Now, that might be great for the schools, for the coaches, for ratings and all that. Is it that great for the players who are looking to enter the pro ranks? Football's a pretty tough sport when it comes to injuries and if you're a projected first rounder already, do you want to risk 2, 3, 4 more games where if you get injured you're now a 2nd, 3rd, or not even selected? Look at the Pro Bowl. Great honor. If the Super Bowl was one month away, you could play and recover from the exertion. But would you play knowing that if you got injured, your ability to play in the big one just went out the window?
